A Lane to Drive In

28 Wednesday Nov 2012

When you are on the highway, you are expected to choose one lane to drive in, though there may be lanes to your left and right. You are expected to stay in your lane and not to swerve into the other lanes, because if you start to swerve to the left or to the right, you’re an accident waiting to happen. There’s a time and an appropriate way to change lanes.

God’s Word gives you a lane to stay in. That lane is based on the written Word and then affirmed by the work of the Spirit in terms of specific application. Stay in that lane and do everything He tells you to do and He will make your way prosperous. – Tony Evans

Man Died Spiritually

27 Tuesday Nov 2012

It was instantaneous! At the very second that Adam and Eve ate of the fruit (sinned), their spirit was separated from God (they died spiritually). Because they disobeyed Him, they were cutoff from all spiritual communication (they were separated from Him).

“And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” – Genesis 3:8-9

The LORD already knew where Adam was. The reason God called to him was for the same reason that a parent calls to his small children who are hiding: To announce His presence.

The communication between God, the man and the woman used to be an intimate one, but now it was gone. They had become spiritually dead. Now there was a separation: a holy God cannot commune with a sinful man. Because of this, Adam hid from God.

This little piece of Scripture shows us the beginning of the downward fall.

No Amount Of Knowledge

27 Tuesday Nov 2012

No amount of knowledge of the Scriptures can equal a one-on-one relationship with Jesus.

Jesus told Nicodemus: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” – John 3:3

Just because we have head-knowledge doesn’t mean that we are spiritual, rather, we must have a TOTALLY NEW frame of mind about just how sincere sin is, and just how much we are in need of a Savior!

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2

“For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.” – Hebrews 4:2

Kicking Against The Goads

23 Friday Nov 2012

A yolk is often placed around the necks of two or more beasts of burden (oxen, etc…) often, the tendency is for them to kick backwards in protest.

The farmer plowing with them will often use goads (sharp sticks) to control their kicking: the idea is that when these oxen kick backwards they feel a sharp prick.

Goad:

 –noun

1. a stick with a pointed or electrically charged end, for driving cattle, oxen, etc.; a prod.

2. anything that pricks or wounds like such a stick.

3. something that encourages, urges, or drives; a stimulus.

–verb (used with object)

4. to prick or drive with, or as if with, a goad; prod; incite.

—Synonyms – spur, push, impel.

Before God changed his name to Paul, the then Saul was on his way to the city of Damascus, Syria to persecute Christians when a bright light was all around him. He heard the voice of Jesus. The men around him could not hear the words that Jesus was saying to him.

“As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”…

And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads (pricks).” – Acts 9:3-5

The Days Of Creation

The Creation of Adam

There are two basic attempts at answering the question of how man came into being:

 1) Creation

 2) The Theory of Evolution…which necessarily depends on The Big Bang Theory.

Creationism teaches that God Himself spoke all of creation into existence, while the Theory of Evolution says that man evolved from lower life forms. The formula for Evolution goes like this: nothing plus no one equals everything.

There’s no such thing as a true Atheist (an atheist is a person who says that he knows there’s no God). A person who claims to be an atheist is really just an Agnostic (an agnostic is a person who says that he doesn’t know if there really ‘is’ a God).

Our atheistic school system teaches The Theory of Evolution and would be quick to make you feel that if you believe in Creationism, then you must not be very smart…………hmmmmm!

Here is the true account of Creationism:

Day One: “Let There Be Light.”-

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth WAS FORMLESS and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. – Gen 1:1-3

Day Two: “Let There Be An Expanse.”-

And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. – Gen 1:6-7

Day Three: “Let The Earth Sprout.”-

And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. – Gen 1:9-11

Day Four: “Let There Be Lights.”-

And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. – Gen 1:14-15

Day Five: “Let There Be Animals”-

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.” So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. – Gen 1:20-21

Day Six: “Let Us Make Man.”-

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. – Gen 1:26-27

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning–the sixth day. – Gen 1:33

Scripture tells us that each of these days had one evening and one morning (One complete day each). This alone is enough to dispel the Theory of Evolution.
