Example #1

There are several different kinds of ‘angels’ mentioned in Scripture, but they are not gods, deserving of man’s worship; rather they are a class of created beings. A common understanding is that when a Christian goes to heaven he/she becomes an angel, however this is not the case. We will be given glorified bodies, each person being known as he/she was while on earth but even still, we will belong to the race of man.

Example #2

The ‘Holy Trinity’ (the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) consist of two personalities (the Father and the Son) and a third entity called the Spirit. This Spirit is the product of the Father and Son, and without them the Spirit wouldn’t exist…right? WRONG!

The Holy Spirit is in Himself a personality, God. So much so that the Christian can even pray to Him. The Holy Spirit is just as much God as the Father and the Son. The mystery here isn’t about the Holy Spirit but the fact that all three personalities can make up one God.

Example #3

Q: Are we made in the ‘image of God’?

A: Genesis 1:26 tells us that man was created in the image of God (Adam), but after this event we’re told that sin corrupted man (and the rest of creation). Genesis 5:3 explains to us that Seth was created in the image of Adam.

So, God created man (Adam) in His own image (God is sinless), but the remainder of man was created as a fallen creature!

However, on this subject some Bible scholars will point to the fact that our body, soul and spirit (The Trichotomy of man) as being a reflection of God. Since God is spirit and the human has a body, “in the image of God” does not mean that the human was created to looklike Him.

So, in the end, the question isn’t completely answered!
